How to Play Uno ? Quick Overview
Uno is a quick, family-friendly game of 2 to 10 players. The goal is to be the first to reach 500 points by playing all your cards and accumulating points from the cards left in your opponents’ hands.
Deal 7 cards to each player. Reserve the rest in a draw pile in the middle, turning one faceup to begin the discard pile.
Gameplay Basics
Play a card on the discard pile with the same color, number, or symbol.
Play action cards to alter the course of the game.
If you have no playable card, draw a card. If it’s playable, place it down immediately.
Calling UNO: When you have one card left, call out “UNO!” If another player hears you not calling it and catches you, you have to draw two cards.
Action Cards Defined
Skip: The player after you skips their turn.
Reverse: Causes play to reverse direction.
Draw Two: Makes the following player draw 2 cards and lose their turn.
Wild: Let’s you switch the color in play.
Wild Draw Four: Switch the color and have the following player draw 4 cards. Only used when you do not have another matching card.
Winning the Game
The game ends when a player uses all their cards. They score points depending on the cards remaining in other players’ hands. Play rounds until a player achieves 500 points. For shorter games, play a predetermined number of rounds and add up the scores.
